2008 Conkwell Open Day
This second annual event was a huge success this year, with over 600 people in attendance.
Visitors were treated to a fantastic display of the yard's stars, as well as some to look out for in the future.
The top of the bill was reserved for Border Castle. The Scottish Champion hurdle winner was paraded in front of the crowds, proudly displaying his new stable rug.
Fun for all the family!
As well as the horses, there was plenty to entertain all age groups and interests.
Complimentary food and drink was on hand, but the highlight was the pig racing! It was certainly a spectacle that had the crowd laughing.
The children (and adults alike), were also entertained with an enthralling display of birds of prey. Those more active visitors could ride the rodeo bull or have a boxing match.
